For the past 30 + years, we have been known as the The County & District Law Presidents' Association (CDLPA), but in November of 2015, our members voted to change our name to the "Federation of Ontario Law Associations".
Our 12,000 members are the lawyers who are in private practice in firms across Ontario as they provide service to the public and operate their businesses. They are on the front-lines of the justice system and see its triumphs and shortcomings every day.
We are an advocate for a better justice system that recognizes the crucial role competent and professional lawyers play in that system.
Most of our focus is on the "business issues" impacting the ability of private-practice lawyers to earn a living in the system. We typically avoid commenting on contentious matters of law and focus mostly on these business viability issues.
Thank you for visiting our web-site. We hope you find it informative and we hope you will engage with us in a dialogue on how to make our justice system even better.
