In this page, members can access the latest practice notices and other important correspondence received from the Ministry of the Attorney General, the Courts or the Law Society.
For the past 30 + years, we have been known as the The County & District Law Presidents' Association (CDLPA), but in November of 2015, our members voted to change our name to the "Federation of Ontario Law Associations".
Our members are the 46 local law associations (plus the Toronto Lawyers' Association), represented in every judicial district in Ontario. These local law associations collectively represent nearly 12,000 lawyers who are in private practice in firms across Ontario. These lawyers and our member associations are on the front-lines of the justice system and see its triumphs and shortcomings every day.
We are an advocate for a better justice system that recognizes the crucial role competent and professional lawyers play in that system.
Most of our focus is on the "business issues" impacting the ability of private-practice lawyers to earn a living in the system. We typically avoid commenting on contentious matters of law and focus mostly on these business viability issues.
Thank you for visiting our web-site. We hope you find it informative and we hope you will engage with us in a dialogue on how to make our justice system even better.
